Together (in spirit) for Alzheimers 2020.’
This year, more than ever 'The Alzheimer's Society' needs our support. Fundraising has been greatly reduced due to many events being cancelled and it is vital that this great charity can continue supporting those affected by dementia and that research can be funded to fight this horrible disease.
If you would like to take part, now is the time to get your 'team' together, plan your start time and route and get training! Please let us know if you would like any advice organising your group.
Any donations can be made by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/togetherforalzheimers2020
and I am attaching a sponsor form to help with your fundraising.
It would be great if you could join in and support this great charity. We would love to see your photos and share them on our page, and if we happen to see you in the forest give us a wave!
After much planning, risk assessments and following guidelines from the Government and professional bodies, I am delighted to say that classes have all started up again this week. It has been so lovely to see friends and clients and to exercise together again. Class numbers are currently limited but please contact me if you would like to join us.
I look forward to hearing from you
It is so nice to be able to get back to some sort of normality after a tricky few months of lock-down. Outdoor classes have been great over the last 4 weeks and it has been lovely to catch up with those of you that were able to join. Thanks to you all for supporting the classes and also to everyone who has visited my YouTube channel to continue exercising regularly during this time.
Although we are still uncertain as to how the summer will unfold due to Covid 19, I am now working on risk assessments and strategies for starting up regular classes again in September. Government and Industry health and safety guidelines will be closely followed to allow us all to feel safe to return to venues and you will all be advised on how we will make this work particularly with regard to social distancing and hygiene. One of the precautions we will be taking is that each person in the class will purchase a plastic sheet from me (size 2m x 2m) to use beneath your mat. This should help to keep your space clean and avoid contact with the floor. You will be asked to take this home and clean after each use. The cost of this is £1 which will be added to your term fees.
I am asking you all to please sign up for the class you would like to attend in September, so I can see how numbers are looking. Please give me 1st and 2nd choice as spaces may be reduced, and all places will be offered on a first come first served basis. The cost for the 7 week term will be £50 (including PPE sheet). I have made a small increase per class of 50p as it is likely class numbers will be reduced and that payment for cleaning will also be added to hall hire costs. I will keep class fees under review for future terms depending on how things work out. If you would like to use credits for the 2 classes which were cancelled during lock-down please reduce your fees by £13.
Please make your payment online to Sort 602245 A/C 72105798 or send a cheque to Alex Eversden, 51 Shaw Drive, Wareham, BH20 7BS.
A full refund will be given if the classes are not able to go ahead for any reason.
Dates will be Monday September 7th to Friday October 23rd, classes will be 50 minutes long to allow time for departures and arrivals.
Mondays Pilates -Sandford Primary School 6.30pm and 7.30pm
Wednesdays Pilates-Sandford Primary School 6.30pm and 7.30pm
Thursday Light’n’Easy-Lytchett Matravers Village Hall 9.30am
Thursday Pilates-Lytchett Matravers Village Hall 10.30am
Friday Pilates-Carey Hall 9am and 10am
Please note there will no longer be a Pilates class on Fridays at 11.15am.
I shall be away for a few weeks over the summer holiday but can be reached by email or Facebook. Class lists will be confirmed at the end of August and I am really looking forward to seeing you again in September. Keep active and healthy and have a lovely summer.

It’s a lovely Spring morning and the sun is shining. Happy Mothering Sunday to all you wonderful Mums and I hope all of you and your families are staying safe. As you will be aware the government has now closed all schools, gyms and leisure centres and is sending the clear message that we should all be practising strict social distancing to minimise the spread of the virus. As a result of these new restrictions and guidelines I have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel all my classes that are held in halls for the time being. All fees paid for the next 2 weeks will be credited to the next course, as soon as we are up and running again. I am hoping that we will safely be able to do classes outside if the weather is good after Easter – I will be monitoring the situation closely and will try to work out a schedule in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime it is important that people keep fit and active so I plan to provide some outdoor classes in the next fortnight. To start with I will run a Pilates session on Wednesday 25th March at 5.30pm on the field at Sandford Primary School and an outdoor exercise session on Thursday 26th March at 9.30am in the field at Lytchett Matravers Village Hall . Numbers are limited to 15 people and you must pre book – spaces will be allocated first come / first served. Everyone will be required to keep to their own space and should not congregate in groups. These will be ‘pay as you feel’ for any donation you wish to make. Please send me a message or phone if you would like to come along. I have also provided some free on line videos on YouTube, and I hope to be adding to these soon. For those of you who are self-isolating please remember that I am thinking of you at this very difficult time. Please try to do some regular exercise and if possible do get some fresh air in the garden or forest. Stay safe and please let me know if you are alone and need an errand. I will help if I can. Many thanks for your support and understanding, and let’s hope that, with your help, things can return to some form of normality in the near future. Please check your emails regularly for updates. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Embracing Uncertain Times …….
Thank you so much for all of your messages during this confusing time. Having reviewed current government advice and looked at procedures that other professional fitness bodies (BH Live and David Lloyd) are currently following I wanted to reassure you of the action I am taking in response to Covid-19 in order for us to continue with Pilates and other regular exercise as part of our lives.
For the time being all classes are continuing as usual for those that are able to come along. Thursday Light’n’Easy class at Lytchett Matravers will also be running. We will do more of the sessions outdoors and will also be minimising use of equipment. We have a great outdoor space there with fantastic views so I really hope you can all come along.
Please follow government guidelines for self isolation and do not come to class if you are unwell or living with others who are unwell or vulnerable.
If you do come to class please bring your own mat and towel.
Bring along an extra layer of clothing so we can ventilate areas well with windows open where possible.
We will minimise use of any other equipment during the classes.
Please follow government guidelines on protection and cleanliness.
Class sizes are reduced so we will have more personal space.
For those who will now be staying at home, please try and stay active as much as possible. I would advise you all to take regular walks and exercise as it has been proved that keeping active does have a positive impact on improving your immune system
Please use the links below to access my You Tube videos for you to follow at home:
During the next few days I will be recording some more exercises for you to do online and will send you the information very soon. This term is due to end on Friday 3rd April but please be aware this may change at short notice. I will keep you informed about classes after the Easter holidays nearer the time.
Meanwhile stay safe and well. I’m so grateful for all the support that everyone is giving each other, it’s lovely to see the kindness in people.
