It’s a lovely Spring morning and the sun is shining. Happy Mothering Sunday to all you wonderful Mums and I hope all of you and your families are staying safe. As you will be aware the government has now closed all schools, gyms and leisure centres and is sending the clear message that we should all be practising strict social distancing to minimise the spread of the virus. As a result of these new restrictions and guidelines I have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel all my classes that are held in halls for the time being. All fees paid for the next 2 weeks will be credited to the next course, as soon as we are up and running again. I am hoping that we will safely be able to do classes outside if the weather is good after Easter – I will be monitoring the situation closely and will try to work out a schedule in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime it is important that people keep fit and active so I plan to provide some outdoor classes in the next fortnight. To start with I will run a Pilates session on Wednesday 25th March at 5.30pm on the field at Sandford Primary School and an outdoor exercise session on Thursday 26th March at 9.30am in the field at Lytchett Matravers Village Hall . Numbers are limited to 15 people and you must pre book – spaces will be allocated first come / first served. Everyone will be required to keep to their own space and should not congregate in groups. These will be ‘pay as you feel’ for any donation you wish to make. Please send me a message or phone if you would like to come along. I have also provided some free on line videos on YouTube, and I hope to be adding to these soon. For those of you who are self-isolating please remember that I am thinking of you at this very difficult time. Please try to do some regular exercise and if possible do get some fresh air in the garden or forest. Stay safe and please let me know if you are alone and need an errand. I will help if I can. Many thanks for your support and understanding, and let’s hope that, with your help, things can return to some form of normality in the near future. Please check your emails regularly for updates. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Embracing Uncertain Times …….
Thank you so much for all of your messages during this confusing time. Having reviewed current government advice and looked at procedures that other professional fitness bodies (BH Live and David Lloyd) are currently following I wanted to reassure you of the action I am taking in response to Covid-19 in order for us to continue with Pilates and other regular exercise as part of our lives.
For the time being all classes are continuing as usual for those that are able to come along. Thursday Light’n’Easy class at Lytchett Matravers will also be running. We will do more of the sessions outdoors and will also be minimising use of equipment. We have a great outdoor space there with fantastic views so I really hope you can all come along.
Please follow government guidelines for self isolation and do not come to class if you are unwell or living with others who are unwell or vulnerable.
If you do come to class please bring your own mat and towel.
Bring along an extra layer of clothing so we can ventilate areas well with windows open where possible.
We will minimise use of any other equipment during the classes.
Please follow government guidelines on protection and cleanliness.
Class sizes are reduced so we will have more personal space.
For those who will now be staying at home, please try and stay active as much as possible. I would advise you all to take regular walks and exercise as it has been proved that keeping active does have a positive impact on improving your immune system

During the next few days I will be recording some more exercises for you to do online and will send you the information very soon. This term is due to end on Friday 3rd April but please be aware this may change at short notice. I will keep you informed about classes after the Easter holidays nearer the time.
Meanwhile stay safe and well. I’m so grateful for all the support that everyone is giving each other, it’s lovely to see the kindness in people.
Love from Alexx
